My current research interests mainly consist of Multimedia Data Mining & Machine Learning, Image Processing & Pattern Recognition. More specifically, I am interested in:
(1) Traditional High-dimensional Data Analysis: Dimensionality Reduction, Manifold Learning and Matrix Factorization, with application to Data Representation, Clustering and Classification.
(2) Low-Rank Coding/Dictionary Learning/Sparse Coding: Sparse and Low-Rank Signal Recovery, Representation, De-nosing, Compression and Classification.
(3) Graph based Semi-Supervised Classification: Advanced Label Propagation Algorithms for Partially Labeled Data Classification.
(4) Deep Learning and its Applications: Deep Convolutional Networks for Low-level (e.g., Image Restoration and Enhancement) and High-level tasks (e.g., Detection, Recognition, Segmentation).
